Creative Strategy // Product Development
A concept project for a new tea based cold brew drink inspired by the traditional tea culture in Japan and the UK combining together. Not only to test my art direction and digital design skills but delve into product development.
can print design
The idea was 'bringing Japan to the UK' and create something that's aesthetically pleasing which young professionalls would want to be seen drinking. I came up with the idea of using famous sections of traditional artwork. Japanese aesthetic and culture of minimilism has been rapidly growing in the UK in many areas such as architecture, art, fashion and way of living. Combining both the old with the new.
product concept
I developed this into a 3D can concept and brand reveal image as well as the iniital flavour reveal. Based upon popular tea favlours in Japan. The idea is to create a cold carbonated version of these. With the huge popularity of meal deals, this would be positioned as a premium and likeable choice for young professionals and office workers. The popularity of tea in the UK is undisputable but the difficulty of having it with your lunch on the move or the issue of watning a cold drink with your lunch versus a hot drink, especially in the summer.
The naming comes from the Japenese word 'really' or 'true' to play on the idea 'is this really tea?'
advert concept
Developing the single minded prposition of 'brining Japan to the UK' and the clashing of cultures. I developed a print to catch the eye or see something that might be typical and make the viewer take a double-take.
